NYT continues to LIE, play dumb, & pretend the GOP isn’t 100% corrupt & a fascist enterprise!!
My struggle to get people to see the U.S. has lost it’s 4th Estate & to compel the Press to step up & save democracy.
Recently, the “famed” New York Times has disgraced itself publically by failing to call out Drumpf, the RNC, the GOP, and their criminal enterprise. How can we respect the NYT ever again, after they teamed up purposely with Murdoch of the propaganda spewing, amoral, fact-free, Fox News? Has the NYT one shred of credibility and decency left? The answer is NO! In 2015, did voters know this fact, or was it ignored by the press, as well? If voters had known of this collaboration and other media/journalists taken issue with it, would that have jarred them awake enough to understand that misogyny was at play to keep the first female president out of office, in favor of an incompetent, pathological liar, rapist, narcissistic, fascist favored by the good ‘ole boy network? We can make a fairly accurate guess, but we’ll never know, because NOBODY in our free press corps stepped up, & those that did (once or twice) did not say so on Msnbc, CNN, CBS, or anywhere else that gave it traction.
Worse than that, The New York Times, failed miserably by NOT admitting to the GOPs association with Russia. They did not admit that the 2016 election was hacked by Russia, rigged at the state level, votes suppressed by Republicans, and stolen via nefarious means of Drumpf, the GOP, their operatives, and their foreign accomplices mainly Russia. So now, after 7 long and grueling years of fake news, denials from Fox & GOP fascists…they have decided at long last, to write an article proclaiming that Fox News has a Russia problem?? Really. After months of Russia using Fox’s own talking points to prop themselves up and years of lies, denials, blame shifting….finally The New York Times has admitted to it in April of 2022!
It seems The New York Times were only willing to admit that Russia meddled in the 2016 election by running a story about what Harry Reid believed, so that they could say, “well we didn’t say it” and so people would think Reid was being partisan. They that the GOP was inviting it, and that the allegations of Drumpf’s collusion with Russia were true. My my what great watch dogs we have in New York city. Even a cat could’ve done a better job at letting us all know that RussiaGate was true, not partisan, and was taking away our voices and votes. Shame shame to the once bastien of reliability, well before 2000 that is. It still shocks me that it is not widely known that whenever a presidential win with less popular votes than the “loser” it is a result of tampering with an election and therefore, is illegitimate. The Republicans have stolen 3 elections (2000, 2004, & 2016) within a span of 20 years. Is that not newsworthy? I think it’s a bigger bombshell than the over-stated, crapola of “Watergate”. Especially since they never finished investigating it. So it wasn’t the biggest scandal. The biggest scandal is that the media won’t tell the people the truth, won’t treat each candidate to the same rigorous standards, and appear to think it’s ok to harass, attack, and pick at any female candidate whenever they feel like it.
So I have a solution. Reporters that cross the line, like they did in 2016 and its aftermath, should be fired! If that were true, Chris Cillizza, Maureen Dowd, Maggie Haberman, Glenn Thrush, Matt Drudge, Will Rahn, Peggy Noonan, Chuck Todd, Chris Hayes, Jeff Zucker, Hunter Walker, Colin Campbell, Christopher Hitchens, Marjorie Williams, Vanity Fair, Jesse Watters, Glenn Greenwald, John Goldman, Michael Isikoff, Jesse Jose, Rachel B. Doyle, Celina Durgin, Donna Brazile, Lukas Mikelionis, Conchita Sarnoff, Noah Rothman, Erik Larson, Rich Lowry, Miguel Torres, Andrea Mitchell, Larry O’Connor, Sidney Powell, Phillip Maddox, Mayhill Fowler, Todd Purdum, Steve Scully, and many others not listed.
The other solution is to stop avoiding talk of putting the Fairness Doctrine back into law, with more teeth. Propaganda in the U.S. DURING a newscast should not, and cannot be legal and get protection from the First Amendment, because it violates the Constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We cannot have liberty and pursue happiness, if we don’t know our own history, what’s going on in the world, etc… Acting out of lies and propaganda is not a good life, liberty, and it’s very likely you won’t be able to pursue happiness. So let’s cut the crap, stop the circular arguments, stop letting liars say things that are patently false without making them pay a price for it and correcting it.
